Late A temperature gauge probe wire route.

From my pictures before my tear down I show that the shielded tube for the temperature gauge goes underneath my my distributor and then up to the gauge. There appears to be a loop in it too that takes up the slack. That seems strange. I'm thinking it was not put back where it belonged. A friends tractor is the same way though. His is an aftermarket gauge though so we don't think that is right either.

I have a new gauge coming from evergreen and would like to install it like factory.

Any help would be great.

Again i have a 1948 A

I got a 48A but I took the hood and everything off for painting .
It's been a few months since I took it off but I think my temp
gauge lead went through the hole in the gas tank support . I
don't know if that's correct or not .
