I have JD 38 B. On the tappets is a valve adjuster.
The adjuster lock nut is so tight I can not get it loose with normal wrench force(I have a wrench on the adjuster hex to hold it while trying to loosen this lock nut-I do not want to twist it off). I do not want to break the tappet trying to loosen this lock nut. Will heating the lock nut (9/16 hex) make it loosen easier?
Any solutions to this problem are welcome.
