MT oil pump stud

Tearing down the engine on my MT and when I went to loosen the stud holding the oil pump in it fell off in my hand. Now I have a broken stud flush with the block. I tried to drill it out to use a bolt extractor but this thing is like trying to drill concrete with a wood dowel. Brand new bits don't even make a scratch in it. Any ideas???

Weld a flat washer to it, getting it as hot as possible while welding. Allow to cool to ambient, weld a nut to the washer, getting it as hot as possible while welding. Allow to cool to ambient, and unscrew.

Repeat the steps, if necessary.

Or take it to a machine shop with EDM capabilities and let them "burn" it out.
