My dad made one for my MT using pipe. 1 1/2 inch or whatever the mid carrier size is. It was a piece of pipe in carrier, 90% elbow, another pipe, 90 elbow and a third piece of pipe. You could make it as high or low as you wanted by length of middle pipe. definitely helped to get onto tractor. was on the left side.

Lots of mods have been done to those in order to try and get onto them better/safer ?

I once had one that the parts that extend from the bottom of the fenders and block the pedals removed. It made it easier to get on.

My Dad's first tractor was a new 1949 M. I think think the engineers worked overtime to make that thing difficult to get on. Dad was short, 5-4, and he really had to make a big step to get on. He traded it for a 320, which was better, and then got a MF 135. He thought that was a gift from God as easy as it was to climb on.
