A kid in FFA that works for us has fully restored his grandad's 1958 430T, now he is trying to finish the restoration of his 246-247 planter. But his dad recalls a sway bar or stabilizer bar that mounted under the center of the tractor above the drawbar and then layed in a notch on the planter hitch to keep planter centered. I can't find any pics or info on dimensions for this. If I even had a simple picture we could build one, also if anyone has a picture or length of the trip handle for the markers cause I know this one has been chopped.

P.S. He has this project entered into the Iowa State Fair so he is real tight on time, and I am reaching out for any help

Thanks in advance

Go to Ebay and view item 121396917347 or search on ebay "john deere 420t stabilizer" to see one. Note a T has a different length than a S. Still may work. Call John and tell him it is for a FFA project and he will help with the price. His phone # is on the listing. There is a rod you will need to attach it to the tractor. If John does not have it call me @ 256-656-7089 and I can dig one up or provide dimensions to make one.

Might have some pictures to help
