starter for 630 only??

have 630 j deere that has bad starter, not repairable --rust/water. I am told the starter for the 630 is unique to that model only, that makes them hard to find if this is true. thanks ahead for any help or info.

The 630 starter is made to only fit a 630 as it has a solenoid. All parts are available for repair. I just rebuilt a 630 starter that was rusted solid but with cleaning and replaced parts it worked fine. A good cleaning may be all it needs. May be possible to put a 620 starter, flywheel cover and push rod on to start it like the 620. (push button on flywheel cover)

I had $400 in my 60 starter getting it rebuilt,and that was with my normal starter guy ...

I put a solenoid type starter on my G. Bolt pattern was the same, rotation correct, all I had to do was wire in a start button. The starter was for a diesel skidloader, I don't remember which one.
Do some checking, there could be another starter that will work.
