KBL Disk Questions

Just picked up this 6' disk. I'm pretty sure it's a KBL. Can someone give me some info about maintenance on these? Greasing in particular. Also what is average value? Just curious if I got a decent deal. Thanks

Does your disk have anti-friction or white iron brgs? White-iron brg grease zerks(parts key 18). Plug(parts key 13) can be removed and grease zerk added on AF brgs. I'll guess $400.

I'm sure you have a KBL. There should be a grease fitting on each bearing for a total of eight. Also there should a scraper on each blade which is held on by a cast iron bracket.
As for as a value, depends on purpose . A 6 ft disk in SE Mo. brings about $400 to $600 dollars. A collecter would probably give more , however your's is missing all the scapers which would be faily expensive to purchase . Tom

Your disk looks like my 8' KBY. Here's a scan from the manual. Should be a grease fitting on every bearing hanger. I'd never heard of a KBY disk until I bought this one. Manual says they were made in 6', 7', 8', and 9'.

Thanks for the info. I gave $325 for this one, so don't guess that's too bad. Just wanted it for garden/food plot purpose.

Tom,
If I decided to put scrapers on it, where is a good place to find them? I don't have any part numbers either. Thanks
