4010 JD Steering

I am looking at a 4010 that doesn"t steer correctly when the engine is cold. once you turn it through the cycle it works fine. It has a leak under the shield of the steering wheel. It might be seals or a hose. Was wondering about parts and if anyone else has ran across this problem?
Thanks Sam

Usually that problem is piston orings in the steering motor leaking by. You should replace the seal while there.
Doesn't mean you don't have a steering valve problem.
Remove the cowl and kick panel to look for your leaks.

Thanks I haven't bought it yet. I am looking at it and the owner says that it has been like that for a while. If it is a major problem or if I cant do the repair job myself I am not sure if I want to buy it. Thanks
