1941 JD A cant locate correct top tank of radiator

i have a i believe a 1941 JD A SN 503607 i cant locate the same top tank that i have mine is stamped A2100R on the top of casting this matches nothing i have found does anyone have any thoughts that could help me locate a top tank

Hello Mathew:

The A2100R top tank fits s/n 477,000 to 488,000, which is a 1939. If the s/n on your tractor is 503,607, you are correct that is a 1941. So apparently you have a 1939 radiator in your 1941 tractor. I have available an A2100R top tank or possibly a complete 1941 radiator. I would have to check to be sure. Feel free to contact me at 573-535-8952 if you want more information.

Thanks!

If you've got the top tank from a 39 A (which you do), then you've likely got the entire radiator from a 39 A. The part/casting numbers for 39 A radiators are 1939 only, and the dimensions are different than a 40 on up. The entire radiator will bolt in the frame of a 41, but all of the parts are different. I would look at the bottom tank to confirm this, but I'm pretty sure that's what you're going to find. The mounting bosses on the upper tank and castings for the exhaust and intake are 39 only as well. Pretty much everything that comes into contact with the radiator is 39 only, so you might want to take a good look at some of these other components to see just what you have. If you buy a correct radiator assy. for a 41, you might get stuck having to buy some of those other items as well...just a heads up.
