My 60 hauling feed with a Knoedler auger wagon

I've long wondered why people call them auger wagons. Aren't they technically auger trailers?

This is one of the last few jobs the 60 can do here, so I let her do it. She does it admirably. If anyone has a Knoedler auger trailer like this sitting around, I'd be interested in getting a spare one for back-up.

Nice rig! You don't see many of those wagons with the long unloading auger on them. Most of them had just a side spout. I have a Heider that I still use occasionally. Mine has hydraulic lift and swing for the unloading auger. Does yours??

I also have a perfect mate for your auger wagon!!! I have a Knoedler Burr mill!!! I still use it to crack corn or grind ear corn for the calves.

If you look at the picture from behind, you'll see a little pump setup for the lift. About 15 pumps gets it as high as it'll go. Then, there's a rack and pinion round the vertical auger that is powered by hand cranking it. It would be more convenient to run them from the tractor seat, but you can't argue with what works. If it were hydraulic lift and turn, the 60 wouldn't handle it unless I found a Baker Valve.....
