I got back out to the 4010 today and checked a few things more on the no start issues. I checked and resolved to change the starter solenoid and got her to crank only to hear the starter sound like someone dumping stones into a barrel. Replaced the starter complete, everything is working fine now,thanks again for your help, B

Thanks for the update. When you replaced starter you would been ahead of the game if you had changed elect system to 12 volts.

I have mentioned this in the past to the customer and yesterday we DID change out the priciest component on the system......BUT the customer wants to leave it original. Might talk to him more about it when we do some work to the transmission (top shaft) this winter. This tractor sees steady, but not heavy work in the yard year round.
