B Quill Gaskets

I want to replace the gaskets behind the differential quills. I dont want to pull the whole rear housing. Can I get the quills out to replace the gaskets without any trouble? I was worried the gear may drop down enough that I couldn"t get the quills back in.

I did a 50 earlier this year, but had to remove the first reduction cover to do the right side. I have also did a 60 and an A with no problems, just do one side at a time. You will need a micrometer to measure the thickness of the failed gaskets to get bearings back to proper fit. You will have to make the thicker ones yourself since deere doesn't manufacture those anymore. chris

No matter what you do they WILL still seep. They are paper, & there are also steel shims in there. All the layers & the paper means oil soaks through. Wash it before you show it & go on with life.
