I bought a 4030 this last winter and used it with a three point implement for the first time yesterday, a 350 mower.
Anyway after driving it a few miles to a field to mow, my son asked me if it always smelled like hot oil. To be honest I haven't used it enough and had it warmed up enough to really know.
After doing some mowing we noticed a whine in the hydraulics. About the only time it doesn't whine is when the three point is being moved up or down.
I would imagine I have some sort of bypass problem, but where do I start? Is this a valve problem or an adjustment issue? Could the way a 350 is tied to the tractor's hitch as a depth stop be part of what's causing it?
