Hello,

I have completely torn apart my radiator and all the cast pieces have been sand blasted. Is there a type of primer or coating that needs to be applied to the raw cast on the internal side of all radiator pieces? Should I leave it raw or will that cause a problem in the future?

Just looking for opinions on what to do or what have others done?

Thanks,

Brandon

I used Glyptal Red Enamel from Eastwood. Mine is not back together yet so I cant say about longevity but I did upon a recommendation here.

I'd say don't bother.

It'll be fine for another 50 years or so if you put it back together as is.

I suppose if you've got something in your water that accelerates corrosion, it might be worth it - but other than that, I don't see the point.

In fact, if anything, I'd be more afraid of paint flaking off and clogging the radiator.
