2955 fan clutch

RE36368 lock up is listed in the PC # 9685 - 6059 (6059TN002, 6059TRW001) and 6359 (6359AH001, 6359TR001) AG Engines - 01Jul14 so I'd GUESS it might work on a 2955 although it's not listed in the 2955 PC

I make them out of a piece of 1/8" X 1 1/4" strap metal, drill the holes appropriately and give it a bit of a curve to match up, easy fix..arrange it to where it is pulling on the fan..

I was unaware fan lockup clips were needed in your snowman country.

Condition of belt, fan pulley and viscous drive ?
2955 were not noted for over heating.
Injection pump turned up?
Early injection timing?
What is the actual coolant temp in F ?
Gauge accurate ?
Tap water mixed in with the coolant? That will scale up the rad and slow heat exchange. Have to use distilled water to prevent mineral build up.

It never overheats. It just can't pull enough air through the condenser which makes the hi side go way up. It also has a new radiator.

I had a lockup put on my 2955 years ago. Uses just a little more fuel but the benefits were much greater. Runs a lot cooler and seems to me a little more hp. My temp gauge never goes past 10:00 o'clock now. I got 3 neighbors with 2955's and they've installed them too. I also have it on my 4250.

Put the fan on recirculating if the function exists. Is there too much freon in the system? Sounds possible, more is not always better.
