dubuque serial numbers.

is there any place to find tje serial number of a 430 crawler if the plate is gone? I know early case and early farmalls had the block stamped with the same number. thank you in advance

You can take the no. off of the motor block close to the hydrolic pump and go through JD and get the original seial no. I got one for a 420W. The JD rep. came out to my house and put it on.

What Hillory suggested is only possible if you have the orginal block. There is also a number on the transmission just left of the where the shifter bolts on top.

My brother has done it with his 430 high crop. There's a form you have to fill out for the S/N request and apparently sign in front of them. Once they figure out which S/N it is the Deere man will come out and confirm your numbers and either attach or watch you attach the tag.

I've got three or four over the years and never had anyone come to my house. They just leave the tag at the dealership. The JD rep wouldn't know how to put a tag on.You have to drill new holes for the replacement tag. Most of them have never been on a farm or a tractor.

From what I hear it depends a lot on your JD rep. Just getting some of them to have any interest in helping you with a 60 year old tractor might take a small miracle.
