1941-1946 Styled A.
1. JD 110 3/4x6 inch John Deere decal on Medallion.
2. JD 115 2x6 inch “John Deere” decal on hood sides.
3. Fan blades painted yellow.
4. Dir. No. 6 on clutch cover .
5. Dir. 118 Service instructions placed on crankcase ventilator.
6. B 1567 R Donaldson service instructions decal on body of air cleaner. Interspersed with United.
7. A 2177 R United air cleaner service decal on air cleaner body. Interspersed with Donaldson.
8. “MODEL A” silk screened on seat channel reading from left to right standing on right side of tractor.
9. JD 261 A “John Deere Quality Farm Equipment” decal applied to Power Lift valve housing. On tractors without Power Lift the decal is placed on rear axle cover. Beginning in 1945 tractors equipped with Powr-Trol have a decal (F 3311 R) which reads “John Deere Hydraulic Powr-Trol” placed on Powr-Trol control valve housing.
10. A 2913 R Safety First decal on tractors produced from 1943 – 1945 with pressure cooling. Decal placed on left side top of grill near radiator cap.
11. Cap on auxiliary fuel tank painted red.
12. A 5177 Safety First decal on PTO master shield.
13. A 5177 Safety First decal regarding speed and braking placed on seat back.
14. Raised letters on rear axle painted yellow.

The fuel system on "John B" our 43B is similar to the fuel system pictured above.

[b:654c4848f0]5.When adjusting the oil pressure do you tighten the adjustment bolt or loosen it?[/b:654c4848f0]

The following information comes from the John Deere B Tractor SM2004.

Loosen jam nut and, with a screw driver, turn adjusting screw "out" approximately two turns. Place cover on crankcase. Start tractor and run it at a fast idle until engine is warm. Check oil pressure. If pressure is not within required limits, stop tractor and turn adjusting screw "in" or "out" one turn at a time. Turn adjusting screw until oil pressure guage registers between 10 and 15 pounds. Tighten jam nut.

[b:654c4848f0]7. What type of bolts did they use from the factor for the hood, grill and battery box? Hex head or slotted pan head bolts?[/b:654c4848f0] Reviewed the Parts Catalog No. PC-675 on page 43. Key 40 A 3232 R Clutch Head Machine Screw 5/16”x1/2” (8 used).
