Recently I have been losing speed in my loader when
I carry any kind of load in my 3 pt hitch. I am
thinking the seal on my internal ram for the 3 pt.
Before I tear it apart could it be anything else?
Also, how big of a job am I in for if this is the
problem? thanks

I have tried different positions on LD lever, does
not help. Tractor has a cab on it, will I need to
lift it off to get at the plate?
thanks a bunch!

Rarely is it the piston seal,, and it will pop out the rear 4 bolt cover, easy,, go ahead and look at it but your problem is most likely valve ajustment...

thanks for the advice. I was thinking it was the piston seal as the 3pt settles quite quickly after shut down. If it was valve adjustment which ones and how would I go about that. thanks again.

To start with I'd recommend to adjust L/D & rockshaft control linkages following the adjustment procedure outlined in a JD 4030 service manual.

Adjusting clearance on rockshaft control valves is accomplished by turning screw(parts key 2)

Access adjusting screw by removing plug(parts key 34)

I went and set the load adjustment to max and turned
the set screw for 3pt drop tighter. It seems to
work better now, could it really be that simple?
thanks
