2510 d will not shut off ( die)

My 2510 will not shout off when I pull the throttle up all the way up. I finally got it to die by fiddling with the injector pump lever from the linkage that comes from the throttle. Any suggestions would be helpful . Thanks Robert

You may have worn ball joints, etc. in the throttle linkage, or it may simply need to be re-adjusted to move the pump lever farther when the throttle is placed in the "stop" position.

Does the injection pump have two separate levers with one for "on-off" and another for throttle? Or does it have a single lever for both? The Stanadyne/Roosamasters DBs came both ways. The shut-off part works by using a special metal clip with an ear on it. It clips onto the throttle shaft. If that clip falls off, shut-off will stop working. If you have air in the fuel, shut-off will also stop working but that will also make the tractor have other symptoms.
