4455 Water in fuel tank

Long story short , the tractor was sitting by the fuel barrel and got filled with fuel but the cap wasn"t put on when a storm came in. The tank did get some water. I am not a 4455 guru. Do these have water separators? Any opinions on how to address this would be greatly appreciated

There is a drain for water on the tank look under tank towards the front of the tractor. Will look like a radiator drain valve, should also see the fuel tank shutoff valve and line to lift pump. chris

Here's a photo of drain cock that matthies referred to. I've owned a 4255 since '93 and didn't realize there was a screen(parts key 14) in drain hole until now.

You're not the only one to be surprised that they have a screen on the drain. If it wasn't for your picture I would have not known. chris

I was going to ask the same thing? Do they want to save the trash in the tank?
I was going to drain a little fuel from a 4440 but no drain cock just the big pipe plug. I knew the 30 series were that way.

I thought all JD RC tractors 10 series & up fuel tanks had a drain cock but parts catalog on the 40 series shows no drain cock only a pipe plug as D- mentioned. One learns something new every day!!!!!
