4020 gas tractor rund real rough when hot

runs good when first started, then as it warms up it sputters and backfires, turn it off and restart. I am posting this for my hubby

I have had several gas 3020 and 4020 John Deeres. Had similar problems with all of them. Tried everything. I now have a 4020, that was gas when I got it. It is now a diesel. The best thing I ever did to one. I never could keep a gasser running right. I have a 2510 gas that runs perfect. I don't know why the later ones seem to run good.

Which carb?? MS or Zenith? Many MS were changed to Zenith to make them work.

Possibly coil or condenser since heating up causes problem unless it's running out of fuel and shutting it off lets gas catch up. Check shutoff under tank.
