My new to me 1020 needs a tie rod end. Thought that couldn't be to bad. We to local JD. Not very helpful of course they were busy helping--nobody else. Finally they managed to look up the part for me. $269. What's that about $25 an inch? Said I would pass. Checked on this site. There are two possible so I have to double check mine for the right one. Worst case like $69. Yep might not be green but for the price difference I could just about buy enough paint to do the entire tractor. I get that it's not a new machine and stocking is expensive but really!

Tie rod ends have ALWAYS been $$$$ at the dealerships, and not just the GREEN. ones.

I priced an outer tie rod end for my JD430U about 10 years ago and they wanted $89 for it. Inner ends were about $15 at the time because all models, S, U, SU etc used the same inner end but outer one was specific to the Utility. I suspect that is the same with your 1020. I usually check prices before ordering any parts, I got wheel bearings for caster wheel on my JD350 rake and they were only about $6 each, and still available

You could have requested A-I price at Deere dealer. He was looking right at it.
