Valve Seat Cutters

I"m trying to find a reasonably priced
valve seat cutter set that will be able to
cut valve seats from a B to G (1.5 - 2.5
inch). New or used, any info to help me
find some valve seat cutters I could use
for these old JD"s is appreciated.

If you cannot find a good set used, just have pro do it and be happy.

Many stones for the older ones are not available...

Are you looking to grind the seat for the valve, or grind it out for a new seat?

Do you have a machine minus the cutters? How were you going to drive the cutters? I have a IDL & a Kwikway machine the cutters won't interchange. Send me your email & phone number I can help you get started.

when you say cutters you are meaning the metal type cutters you turn by hand, not grinding stones that are machine driven. if going with hand held /turning you need a good quality set. cheap ones don't last long will and chip/ wear pretty easy. the other problem can be they don't like hardened inserts or cast that has heat hardened in use. they won't even touch it. plus you need new or unworn guides if regrinding seats to get it right.
i was looking into this and just decided to get the machine shops to do them. it was less hassle for me and if not right they could fix it properly.
