jd 300 loader/hoe

3cyl diesel, bad journal and block had one go thru it before n welded back on. what are my chances finding a block n crank in usable condition reasonable? or junk it n use money on rental of something lil more modern?

They're out there.. I bought a 3 cylinder Deere block from a Case parts yard in Noblesville Indiana or you might try Ray Snyder in Hanoverton Ohio..

You might consider looking for a complete engine... our dealer re-engined a 300 for us with a 179- a much newer 3 cyl. That 179 was used in things as new as a 240-250 skid steer.

I think they make heavy and light blocks from what I have read here before.
Tractors used heavy blocks power units and such used a light or thinner block.
