Gas makes no difference. You can add valves if that's what you are asking.

Go to jdparts.com and look at the parts books for that model as there are a couple of options. One is a complete selective control valve and another is tapping pressure from the rockshaft to operate a one way cylinder like on a haybine.

Valves bolted to RH axle housing. You would need to pick up used from salvage yard and would still be pricey.
Any neighbors with utility tractors you could look at?
