2240 buying a used rockshaft housing complete

Can someone answer a question for me. Many rockshaft housings will fit my 2240 they look identical but casting numbers don't match. what gives?
How do i tell which ones will work. I'm trying to purchase housing, arms, cylinder, etc so I can just swap it.
my casting numbers are
L34402
L34403
L34404

Of those three numbers one should have a mark beside it. That would be the number for your housing.

Didn't see any marks but, might be covered by dirt.
Do I need an exact match in order for it to work? So many of them look identical.

I would want the numbers to match cause I've been bit by one on a 2950 that wasn't correct. Pulled that rockshaft so many times the owner of the dealership started calling me rockshaft. One little hole under the valve that wasn't there but it took finding out the casting number was wrong and laying a correct casting beside it to find the problem. Dealership lost a bunch of money on that one.

It's odd that those casting numbers aren't listed in the parts catalog under parts descriptions. What's your tractors serial number/

Never wrote the serial down. won't be back where the tractor is till Saturday. It is the later model 2240 350,000 and up.

Thank you Sir. That really helps. i knew there had to be a bunch of different ones that would work. i have no idea how the owner managed to do it but, the cylinder in the rockshaft is cracked. Tractor was bought at an auction. It's in good shape otherwise. i just need to get this problem fixed.
