This is my first post on this forum; been posting years on Fordson and Ford forum.
1984 JD 850 4x4 w/loader 5122 hrs. Picked it up as a "bucket of bolts" deal. Previous owner just had the head-gasket replaced and injector pump rebuilt. Used it a while with no problem. Tractor sucks air into fuel system now everytime you shut it off. I have low pressure sealing gaskets, new hose, filter assembly on order.
Even though I have it running, I can hear it pickup and purging air. Lines are clamped.
My question is on the topic of finding sucking air leaks. On other manual fuel injector diesels, I pull the return hose, plug it and put 3-5 PSI air in the tank and look for weeps to seal and stop. Who has troublshot these little diesels successfully and with what method?
