4030 batteries

My 4030 has 2 6vt batteries I would like to change to 1 12 vt has anybody done this what size battery do I need anybody have any advice thanks in advance Ray

What is your reasoning for wanting one Battery??

You won't be happy with cold weather starting with only one battery... at least not one that will fit in the battery box.

I have a 329 engine like in your tractor on an irrigation pump. One battery will work in July, but will struggle in fall (although I don't use it much then!). And in that application, there is no drag from a hydraulic pump, etc.

I use a 1k amp single on all my tractors 3020-4230 don't run them much in winter

Use 55 series cables and batteries

BCI 31 925 CCA is used in pairs on a 55 series. I think a 31 or 30H is as a large of a 12 v battery that will fit in the batt box.

Group 31
I regularly use one on tractors I'm working on and they start fine. But I install both as they leave here. Use 55 series cables, not shop made unless you have good insurance.
