Transmission oil pressure warning switch

Hi y'all i have a john deere 2355 that has been leaking hydralic fluid out of what I believe is the transmission oil pressure switch. I got a new o ring for it but now i can't get the sucker back in! It's a plastic plug under the shifting levers with a wire going to it. It feels like something is blocking it from being able to start threading. I've spent about 8 hours trying to thread this thing, ive been to the deere dealer, I'm at my wits end and my manure piles are getting huge! Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks for your time.

Sounds as if it's part key 19. I have no experience changing one of those.

get a friend who is "mechanically inclined".........

Give him the switch, O-ring, etc and show him where it goes. Don't tell him how to do it.

Sometimes a second set of eyes, fingers, brain, etc is what it takes.

Hi thanks for your time. It actually part key16, and 19 is in the
way of letting 16 begin to thread. I don't know how to get 19 to
go backwards to allow 16 room to thread. I've tried moving
trans in and out of gear. Any thoughts.

I did. I've actually moved every lever and gear on tractor but
nothing is working! I'm sure it's something simple but i don't
know what it is. Thanks again for your time.

For future reference for anyone. The transmission oil pressure switch is comprised of 3 parts a switch a spring and a plug. What had happened to me was the switch was sticking out to far inside the trans so the plug would not thread. What I ended up doing was starting the tractor and used the hydralic pressure to push out the switch. It is triangular shape and had spun to where I couldn't get the plug back in. I reallined the switch and put it back into trans and we are all good now. What a tricky sucker. Thanks for your input guys.
