630 Carb Inlet

This morning I put a rebuilt carb and cleaned gas tank back on my 630. Amazingly after all of the work that I did with the carb and tank it popped off right away. Unfortunately when I was priming the carb I noticed that I was leaking some gas right where the carb inlet body connects to the carb.

I did not take that inlet body off the carb when I cleaned and rebuilt it. I did try to remove it but it never wanted to unscrew. I thought I had retightened it after that attempt, but obviously not.

My question is what would be inside that body that would be causing a leak? Is that inlet body actually meant to be removed from the carb?

Not the actual line itself, but the cylinder shaped body that the line hooks onto. This cylinder is connected to the carb, but I would call it the piece between the fuel line and the carb. Thanks

The round steel chamber on top of the carb is a vent.
There is a gasket between it and the carb body. It is the same gasket as the nut on the bottom of the float bowl.
The big nut on top must be removed first and sometimes the brass fuel line fitting to gain access to the connector in the bottom. Sometimes the brass fitting protrudes inside far enough to prevent getting a socket down onto the connector. A deep well socket same size as the bowl nut is used to unscrew the connector. With the connector unscrewed, you can then renew the gasket you"re asking about. A hard fiber gasket is recommended, not one of the soft ones. You may also need a new gasket for the big nut on top.

From what I can see on my 630, it has flats around the top, like it should screw out and off...

Have never needed to do this on mine..

Have you taken the drain plug out at the bottom of that screen-well, to see if you have better fuel flow..?
