I am clipping pasture with a #39 sickle mower, broke the pitman rod, no big deal, got to looking and the pitman bushing that goes on the flywheel is worn out......where do you find these to press back in ???

I see tapered roller brgs & races in parts schematics but no bushings.

mine is I guess like a #5 mower with the bushing end and not the bearing end?

Are sure you have a model 39 as the pitman I posted the photo of was the only one listed in 39 PC?? Here's the parts schematics for the next older model mower.
The part Z9970H is no longer available. Contact your local John Deere dealer for other options.
But the bushing is available at the Parts Dept but you need to go through a participating dealer.

it maybe just a #9 with a wheel.....cannot find serial number tag, 2pt with cylinder for crazy wheel.......7ft.....I have a #9 3pt. so I maybe wrong as I am sometimes......

That pitman fits a #5 and not any other model that I'm aware of.
bushing is Z868H Bushing ADD 35.16 USD
Does your mower resemble this photo?

If it's a "a #9 with a wheel", it's a # 8.
I believe Jim posted a parts breakdown for an EARLY #8.

Sure looks like the numbers 38 on your mower plus 39 is a 3 pt model with no tailwheel

You are absolutely right Jim. I just got this mower and as soon as I
posted the picture of it I could see the decal and noticed my
mistake. It is a 38 and not a 39. I have a Model 22 crimper that
goes behind it and just too many numbers for a old man to
remember. I apologize.
