Late model 2520

I have a friend that wants to sell his late model 2520 and wants to know what it is worth. He bought it with its original gas motor in it and transplanted the correct diesel motor into it. Wide front 3 point and single hydraulics. Does the fact that it doesn't have the original motor in it bring the price down? He was thinking 11-12000. I told him I thought he was plenty high. Any input on this is greatly appreciated.

2520's are considered one of the best model of tractors John Deere ever built, so they are usually premium priced. Look at the prices asked on Tractorhouse for 2520's.

I bought a nice original 2520 gas with 239 diesel conversion. Most people couldn't tell as it is a near perfect conversion and the lack of two batteries and side shield diesel emblem plus serial number were the giveaway. The seller just couldnt sell it and I bought it reasonable and actually used it on a hayrake and then sold it.There were two nice ones on Machinery Pete video that sold around $12K.Tires ,original paint,# of scvs, correct W.F.and condition can make a few thousand difference.2520s are popular but conversions hurt about the same as a 466 in a 4020 even if it is better than factory.
