39B clutch drive plate removal

While waiting for my mag to be returned I was just playing with things and didn't think the clutch felt "right". I pried off the cover and found that the master mechanic had been in there too (should have taken a picture of the cotter pins installed in the adjusting nuts, unreal). I took off the outer plate and facing, one of the springs is missing, go figure. Got into it this far thought I should pull the drive disk. I have a lot of pressure on it with a gear puller and she hasn't moved, no holes to use the 1/2 bolt method like the owner manual says, any tricks? I sprayed it with Blaster and sure don't feel good about heating it with a torch. Any advice would make me a happy guy. Thanks.

There are large slots in the drive but the owners manual shows drilled and taped holes that you could thread 1/2 inch bolts into to force the plate off. Mine doesn't have the threaded holes. I got the gear puller in the slots and have really cranked on it with no luck. Don't really know what else to do but take the torch to it. Ideas? Thanks for responding.

Make a tool like in the photo, use square headed bolts. Mount tool to driver, then back bolt (or nut) on end of crankshaft out against the tool TIGHT. When good tension is applied smack center of tool with a sledge hammer. Clutch driver will pop loose. Don't forget to mark the driver and one spline to get the proper orientation when reinstalling.
