Hi Greenies,
Anyone on here have a valve or two laying loose in the shop? I d like to know the measurements of an A and a G valve. I have the head of an unknown brand of one cyl. engine in the shop and it needs one new valve. The BIL and I have had no luck finding any thing yet. The one good valve measures thusly: head-2 1/8" W/ 45 deg. angle, stem- .370 to .375, length-7 in over all. Any ideas? Thanks for any and all help. VH

Well I don't have my valve book here but even the B John Deere had 7/16 inch stems. The A 1/2 inch and the G is larger. I will try to look in my valve spec book over the week end.

Husker44A,
Single cyl. horizontal, 5" +- bore, diesel. The only no. on the head looks like a date, 20-8-56. The man the BIL bought it from thought it might be a Fairbanks-Morse, but there are no marks or tags on it. Thanks, VH

H&J machine in Carrington ND. Ask for Henry. He has valve blanks & can make ANY valve , from the size of a 8D nail to the size of a dinner plate.
