Loader on an R

I saw a pic of an R with loader this winter.......pretty sure on here....IDK where else it could have been. Was surprised to see it!

I would be interested in seeing how a loader is fastened onto an R. There are very few spare bolt holes anywhere on the frame. The R was intended to be a drawbar only tractor. Jim

You might be thinking of the loader I put on my 720 standard. Its all green so looks a bit like an R.

The R's muffler is behind the intake stack. In the pic it appears the muffler is ahead of the intake. Still an awesome looking bale hauler. Jim

I never had any pictures taken of my JD "R" with a FARM HAND Loader and a HAY SWEEP. We stacked hundreds of tons of hay up until 1980. There were TWO 4" X 4" X 1/2" thick angel Irons attached to the under side of the Draw-bar frame that aloud the rear of the loader to attach to and sit on. The FARM HAND was approximately 12" wider in width than the out side of the Rear tires. TWO 2" pipes attached to the upper structure of the FARM HAND frame work and attached down to the front left and right sides at a point were the ENGINE BLOCK meets the crankcase.

Weird Deere is the appropriate term.

Thanks, Bob. Now I know it can be done. The R would be a stable tractor for high stacking. The R is a nice tractor to drive as long as you don't have to make many sharp turns. Jim
