My 420W is missing the spring (M2212T) that helps control the automatic depth control for the TOM. Well I have the spring it is just bent in half. Regardless, the stud (M2200T) is also missing. It doesn't look like it is broken off but I also haven't look that hard either, but my question is, does the stud just thread into a threaded hole in the transmissions rear cover or does it thread all the way through? Hopefully I don't need to take the cover off to replace the stud do I?
Also, I have a few leads on a new spring, but the stud is proving harder to locate. Couldn't i just use a piece of threaded rod? Does anyone know the thread count/pitch of the end that threads into the cover?
