Cooling system on this engine contaminated with engine oil. Removed cylinder head, could not see any head gasket issues around rear oil pressure galley that supplies rocker arm shaft. Tested engine oil cooler OK. Looked for possible crack in block around oil pressure hole OK. There is a small amount of coolant in engine oil. My machine shop guy said he saw a couple of bad blocks with the same engine series that I have a few years back. Thought on getting short block from deere , machining the head crossing are fingers, any thoughts?

Odds are somebody did not check the corrosion inhibitor strength of the coolant. Which contributes to cavitation etching pin holes through the wet sleeves.
Usually however the coolant flows into the crankcase but.................

B&D is on the right track. I have seen them push oil/fuel into the cooling system but little coolant in the oil due to a pinhole in a liner. It has to do with the location of the hole in relation to piston travel. I would pull the liners and see what you find. If you're lucky the block will be ok yet. Your engine can likely be rebuilt. A good machine shop can help you.

Yes while the cavitation problems usually cause antifreeze to leak into the oil the oil can also syphon into the coolant.
