will any 466 engine bolt up or do I need to find a specific serial number range? Will my manifolds injection pump and turbo bolt up from the 404 if I go with a long block or do I need to get newer ones?? any and all advice is greatly appreciated.

I recall a couple of 4630's around that had 466's installed in them. One may have had the 50 series 7.6 litre engine. I don't recall any 404 parts being used but somebody such as Tim S may know different. If I had a bunch of money I always wanted to put a 50 series engine into a 4630.

The 40 and 50 series will work, but the latter ones have a bigger side frame bolt pattern.and the side frame bolt pattern is the only basic difference.

Would rather go w/complete engine and as Tim said it needs to be early enough for the right bolt pattern at front.

Have you ever installed a larger bolt engine in any "small frame" tractors Tim? What all is involved other than drilling out the holes to take the 5/8" bolt rather than the 1/2" ?

As for the original question, 4440 engine would probably the closest to stock bolt in. They were also in 6620 and 7720 combines, some accessories may need changed to work perfect.

No, I have not, and it would be more than just redrilling holes, you would need to cut the frame out and weld in a resessed plate..but there are plenty of the right ones out there
