Van Brunt Drill

I was drilling some waterways with my Van Brunt drill and "63 JD 3010 today. Everything was great until I bent the lift mechanism on the drill. This has hydraulics and the cylinder pushes on kind of a Y shaped piece. That piece rotates a square shaft that lifts the single discs out of the ground. I bent it pretty bad. Now 1/2 the drill lifts and the other 1/2 pushes down deeper in the ground. Is that main lift shaft normally 2 pieces? or did I break it? Any ideas on how to lift the thing and get it to the shop? Thanks

They are split, you didn't break the shaft. You might have broken a pin or bolt on the lift connecting it to the square rod that all the seed boots/discs connect to

I agree with dmiller that the the lift shaft is two pieces. You could disconnect non-lifting side from lift mechanism and put adjustable wrench on sq lift shaft using a come-along attached behind box & to wrench to raise disks to transport home for repair.
