Backward roll-o-matic

anyone here have any idea why the roll-o-matic would be backward facing on a 1951 A? the tractor does not have a split pedestal but the roll-o-matic is the wrong direction. why would this be?

My '50 "B" was the same way when I got it. In 60 years there are a lot of "untrained hands" that have touched these tractors. The "castor" is just backwards in that situation. Anybody,s guess what the thinking was. Probably none.
