Well I starting overhauling the engine on my model 50 back in the fall and now I cant remember which spring and cap goes on which valve. The springs are two different length and one cap is solid and the other cap is two parts and the center swivels. Thanks for the help.

When the springs are handy. This is the time to check
pressure at installed height.
Every now and again a 60+ year old spring goes soft and
causes a phantom miss fire.

How do you check spring pressure and where would you find what the spring pressure is supposed to be. Thanks again for the help.

Even the much hated (not by me) I&T manual should have the spring specs.
The shop that ground the valves should have a spring tester.

If you don't have a spring tester but have a bathroom scale and a hyd. press set the scale in the press and squeeze the spring down on it to the height required as you look at the lbs. dial.
