Unstyled D Gasket Question

Working on a 1926 Unstyled D. I"m reassembling and preparing for paint. My question is what would you suggest to put on the gaskets as a sealer? I have all new gaskets. What should I use for the block to crankcase gasket and also the head gasket if anything?

i wouldn't use anything,soak your head gasket in oil for a few minutes and let it drain and install it,you can use blue goo if you want on the rest,just remember paint won't stick to it

Blue goo is about the worst,if any thing use Black,but just a thin coat on the block to main case & nothing on head gasket.Ron

I've always liked Permatex High Tack for normal paper gaskets. Makes the gasket stick, a little sealing, but not permanent and you can get things apart later if need be.

Head gaskets, I use nothing.

I use a light film of grease to hold in place and it allows the gasket to move while its tightened down .

yep on the permatex , that's the only thing I use.
