JD 60 block torque question

I am reassembling the block on my 60 to the main case and I was wondering if anyone has a recommendation on how to properly torque the nuts. There is not enough space for a socket and a torque wrench and the manual says there is a special wrench that attaches to a torque wrench to achieve the proper torque. Has anyone found another way to torque properly without the special wrench or know where I may be able to find one? Thanks!

You may be able to use a "cheater extension" to tighten them. You wil have to recalculate the torque needed to liver the job.

Take a box end wrench and grind it so it is thinner on the outside circumference and it will fit in the block around the nut. I did one for a late A and just went tight, not torqued. They have never came loose or leaked oil.

I agree with the good-n-tight method but you could also use a torque adapter

A crows foot wrench connected to a torque wrench will work. If you don"t know, a crows foot is the open side of a wrench with the connection for a ratchet wrench. Similar to the other picture posted, but no extra torque added due to the extension.
