420W Decal locations

Does anyone knoe if there is a reference guide for the decal locations on a 57 420w? We took good pics and measurements before the tear down.. Just want to make sure we are accurate..

You are correct, the decals goes on the sides of hood,as your measurements indicate.

The early 420 tractors had the side john deere decal pretty close to the front of the hood.The later ones it was closer to the middle.I usually look at pictures in the two cylinder magazine to get them correct.Some of those guys selling decals give the wrong locations.

All of the original decals were still on the tractor but once they are gone, even with pics and measurements, I have a feeling its going to be a guessing game..

Not really.The 420 has a center hood bolt you can use as a guage as to where the decal goes.If you find a good original picture you can see where the decal goes in relationship to the center bolt.
It's pretty accurate that way.

Ahhh.. Duh...you are right... The center hood bolt! Some times it"s hard to see the obvious! Thanks!
