I would like to change the fluid in my Deere compact, hydrostatic transmission.

What is the going price for a 5 gallon pail of Hygard? I changed the fluid 4 years ago, I do not remember what it cost.
There are 2 places I can buy the fluid and filters from.

Just bought a 5 gal pail of Hy-Guard from my local JD dealer during their spring parts and oil sale. The list was $83.21, but with a 12% discount, it was $73.22. Many dealers have a spring discount on parts and oil this time of the year. Al

Yep, I remember paying $75 I think last time.

The filters...........The spin on trans filter
was $25 I think, I change that every year.

I called 2 dealers in my area,
One place wants $ 68.
The other place wants $ 75.

It sure would be nice if they sold it in 1 gallon jugs, easier to get in that little filler hole.

I'm sure they do but maybe those dealers don't keep it that way ?

They did have quarts as I had some for my mower.

The last time (last fall) I bought a 5 gallon bucket of Low-Viscosity Hy-Gard it cost me $81. It costs more because it is a lower volume product. Mike

We sell it in 1 gallon and 1 quart jugs

Guess I lucked out at a farm auction last summer, paid 100 bucks for a new barrel of JD hydratrans, and 125 for a new drum of 15-40 motor oil.
