John Deere R not starting

The diesel engine will not start. Fuel is supplied to the filter housing and leaks out of the bleed bolts when loosened however unit is not firing. Even used stating fluid with no response. Any suggestions?

The operators manual shows more places to bleed the fuel system than just at the filters.
In case somebody up and lost the manual. The nice folks at 1-800-522-7448 sell them on CD and in print.

The operators manual isn't of any value if his R isn't even firing on ether.

If not firing with either, you may have air passages plugged with trash. The fuel filters have three spots to bleed from. Try taking the lines that tie into the injectors from the fuel rack and see if you have fuel there with the pony running. How long has it set with out running?

I did blow air into the three bleed points and fuel evacuated from those areas when air was introduced. I even blew air back to the fuel tank just to make sure I did not have a restriction that way. I has sat for 2-3 months. thank you

Funny it did not snort with the either. Pull the cover off at the fuel rack and check at those lines. Does it even puff smoke when using the pony to start it?
Setting 3 months is nothing, my 53 set ten years while over seas and started just fine. Traded the 50 for a 3020 and do not have a book but had mine down to the bones before.

Even with the either very little smoke. Thank you for the valuable suggestion. Will investigate that when time permits.

I have had this before on some of the Rs, check to make sure your fuel rod is slideing under the fuel rack!!!
