spark plugs

1957 620 gas . Put autolite 386 in it . They are gaped at .022 My IT manual says they should be gaped at .030 Should I gap them at .030? Thanks

If the manual says the gap should be 0.030 then YES you should have them gaped that way. The smaller the gap the weaker the spark is and it is probably not running as well as it should be at 0.022

Someone set the plugs at the gap required for the points. Set them at .030". Mike
