The left hand one is easy to pull the cap off and look at. If
you have the gov. Cap off you can loosen rocker arms and
try and wiggle it. It is spring loaded to the left by a spring
on the right.

I just tested the generator "off" the tractor...it motors so it is good. Put it back on and checked battery voltage "running"
and have 13.2 +- ..... so its ok. Now I need to pull the "amp guage" and see if it is bad. Do you have a aftermarket site for John
Deere parts? Thanks for your help!

It is my opinion, and strictly my opinion as I have no outside interest in this producer of gauges, by Evergreen Restoration at 715 635-8629 or cell at 715 520-7876 but they make excellent gauges and they can send you the correct gauge for you tractor (???). Made in Spooner, WI.
