JD 2020 Spreader Works tractor

Hi,

I recently purchased a 1967 JD 2020 high crop that has a tag attached to the right side cowl. The tag says Property of John Deere Spreaderworks. It goes on to say about all maintenance concerns should be addressed to the spreaderworks. Anyone know what this may mean? Is this rare? Kind of a cool emblem. The tractor also appears to have been primered in yellow or painted yellow at some point. Any info is appreciated. thanks

More than likely the Spreader works used it as a yard tractor to test run machines as well as move equipment around the lot.The yellow is more than likely a primer as it found on most of the utility tractors on various castings.Not sure the tag makes it rare or worth more but it would be kind of neat and worth preserving.How I wish that some of my old tractors could talk and tell their story.Tom
