corn planter sword side slides

I have a John Deere two row corn planter, tool bar with two 24-B planter units.

I was looking for the side slides that you attach to the swords to maintain depth control.

I really do not know what the proper term is for these slides. Guess that would help finding a pair, if I knew what to call them.
any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Fred

Thanks for the info,
I will check it out.

the little planter does a good job and corn comes up well.

I just have a small 6 ft disc and can never get the ground all that smooth,

when one sword gets in the cut left by the outside rear disc blade, I am concern there is not enough fill dirt to cover the corn and maintain the correct planting depth.

I thought these side plates might just be the ticket I was looking for to insure a more even planting depth and good seed cover.

Good idea on that narrow
A couple of my gardens are about 1/2mile down the road. I have been looking for a narrow with a 3 point hitch.

I believe the term for what you are interested in is "gauge shoes". They were never used in my area. Unless your ground is trash free and somewhat dry they likely would plug up continually. Runner planters like a smooth, level seedbed with plenty of loose dirt. It sounds as though you need to do some smoothing as you work your ground. Mike
